Aespa breaks silence on Hybe chairman’s remark to ‘crush’ them

SM Entertainment's popular K-pop girl group aespa recently held a press conference in Seoul for the launch of their first full-length studio album "Armageddon." During the conference, the group addressed the recent controversy surrounding a remark made by Hybe Chairman Bang Si-hyuk aimed at them, revealing that they were not giving it much attention as they were completely focused on preparing for their album. The controversy arose when Ador CEO Min Hee-jin exposed messages from Bang, in which he had suggested the creation of a girl group to rival aespa. Despite the controversy and the release of a new album by a competing group called NewJeans, aespa emphasized their positive relationship with NewJeans and expressed their focus on their music, which has seen their latest single "Supernova" top music charts. The group also highlighted their album's unique sound, described as a fusion of retro and hip-hop styles, showcasing aespa's distinct musical identity.
