Dongsuh Foods' Kanu Barista woos coffee lovers

South Korean food and beverage manufacturer Dongsuh Foods is targeting the growing domestic capsule coffee market, valued at 400 billion won ($293 million), with its premium brand Kanu Barista. Launched in February last year, Kanu Barista offers 11 capsule types, containing 1.7 times more coffee beans than traditional espresso capsules, resulting in a richer flavor. The brand caters to diverse consumer preferences with options including light roast, medium roast, dark roast, decaffeinated, and ice-only capsules. Dongsuh Foods has introduced three single-origin capsules, featuring beans from Ethiopia, Colombia, and Indonesia, each offering distinct flavors and aromas. The company has also expanded its consumer engagement efforts, including hosting a "Kanu on the Table" event and operating a pop-up store in collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Metro, where visitors can sample Kanu Barista capsule coffee and participate in various activities. The company aims to continue offering experiential promotions to provide consumers with a unique brand experience.
