Hyundai eyes first hydrogen supercar by 2026

Hyundai Motor Group is reportedly planning to manufacture a hydrogen-powered supercar with an impressive 775 horsepower by 2026, making it the first of its kind. The car, codenamed N74, is based on the N Vision 74 concept and will be a hydrogen fuel cell-only supercar. It is expected to have a limited production run of 200 units over two years, with each unit estimated to cost around $366,000. The N74 will be a rear-wheel drive coupe with a high-performance motor, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in approximately three seconds. Inspired by the N Vision 74 concept car, the N74 is expected to feature a modernized design, drawing from the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe. The development of a trial vehicle is crucial for fine-tuning performance and resolving any issues before mass production. The project demonstrates Hyundai's commitment to a hydrogen-powered future, aiming to generate enthusiasm for hydrogen energy by creating an attention-grabbing supercar.
