Illit’s agency sues Ador CEO Min Hee-jin for defamation

Belift Lab, a K-pop agency housing the new girl group Illit and a subsidiary of Hybe, has taken legal action against Ador CEO Min Hee-jin for alleged obstruction of business and defamation. This follows Min's accusations that Illit had plagiarized NewJean's style after their debut in March. Belift Lab, which had previously remained silent on the matter, released a statement refuting Min's claims and asserting that they have submitted evidence to law enforcement to support their position. The agency emphasized that the allegations of plagiarism are baseless and that the ongoing dispute has led to significant mistreatment and personal attacks against Illit members. Belift Lab urged the public to refrain from further condemnation of the group. The conflict initially arose when Min, representing the parents of NewJeans members, communicated concerns about the similarity between Illit's concept and choreography and that of NewJeans to Hybe and Belift Lab, and later reiterated these claims in a press conference in Seoul.
