LG Electronics strengthens medical robot services

LG Electronics has partnered with Hanllym University Sacred Heart Hospital to enhance medical robot services using its "affectionate intelligence" robot, Cloi. Through this collaboration, LG and the hospital will explore how robots can be utilized in medical settings and implement demonstration cases in both domestic and international medical institutions. This initiative aims to streamline repetitive tasks and optimize medical service efficiency, allowing medical staff to work more effectively and providing visitors with a unique medical experience. The Cloi serving robot, which was initially showcased at CES 2024 and is currently operational in various business environments, is expected to play a significant role in enhancing medical service efficiency. Equipped with features such as antimicrobial materials, advanced obstacle avoidance technology, and a 10.1-inch touch screen, the robot can navigate complex hospital environments, transport medical supplies, and assist patients and visitors in finding their way within the hospital. LG Electronics and the hospital anticipate that their collaboration will establish a novel standard for medical service robots, both within and outside of Korea, ultimately elevating the quality of medical services. LG Electronics has expanded its introduction of Cloi robots in hospitals since 2020, initially partnering with Seoul National University Hospital.
