NewJeans to headline palace show

K-pop girl group NewJeans, amid a dispute between their label Ador and Hybe, will be performing for the first time since the conflict arose. The performance, set for May 21 at 7 p.m., will take place in front of Heungnyemun at Gyeongbokgung, a historic palace in downtown Seoul, to commemorate the official renaming of the Cultural Heritage Administration as the Korea Heritage Service. NewJeans' member Danielle will also serve as the emcee for the two-hour show. This event will also see the appointment of actress Cho Boah as the new brand ambassador for the Korea Heritage Service. The performance lineup includes 12 K-pop singers and groups, such as Fromis_9, along with trot singers Song Ga-in and Jang Min-ho. This event precedes NewJeans' upcoming album release, "Hot Sweet," scheduled for May 24. The conflict at the heart of this performance involves K-pop agency Hybe's attempt to remove Ador's CEO, Min Hee-jin, who manages NewJeans. Additionally, actress Cho Boah, known for her roles in various films and dramas, is set to take on the position of brand ambassador for the Korea Heritage Service.
