Ottogi heir joins family business in US

Ham Yon-ji, a former musical actor and a third-generation member of the South Korean food company Ottogi family, has recently joined Ottogi America, the company's US subsidiary. Previously known for her work as a musical actor and YouTuber, Ham officially joined Ottogi America's marketing division this month after completing an internship at the company. She graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and had been running a YouTube channel sharing her daily life with fans and followers before expressing her desire to promote Korean food abroad professionally. With Ham's entry into Ottogi's US subsidiary, the industry anticipates that Ottogi's global management initiatives will gain momentum, as Ham now holds a 1.07 percent stake in the company. Additionally, it's noteworthy that the Ottogi chairman's son, Ham Yoon-sik, also joined Ottogi in 2021 and works in the management sector, while his son-in-law, Kim Jae-woo, who joined Ottogi in 2018, is currently on leave to study in the United States. Furthermore, the chairman hired Kim Kyung-ho, former vice president of LG Electronics, to lead Ottogi's global business division in November last year. By joining Ottogi America, Ham Yon-ji's entry into the family business is a significant development for the company's international expansion and global management efforts, marking a notable evolution in Ottogi's leadership and strategic direction.
