Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Chinese Premier Li Qiang met at the Shilla Seoul on Sunday. During their meeting, Lee expressed appreciation for the Chinese government's support of Samsung affiliates during the COVID-19 crisis, including exempting them from lockdown measures. Li, who was in Seoul to attend the Korea-China-Japan summit, encouraged Samsung to further invest in China, emphasizing the importance of the cooperation between the two entities in representing the broader Korea-China relationship. This marked the first meeting between Li and Lee in 19 years, following their previous encounter at Samsung's Suwon and Giheung offices in Korea in 2005.
