Police raid popera singer Kim Ho-joong's house over hit-and-run suspicions

Famous popera singer Kim Ho-joong's house in Seoul was raided by police following suspicions that he was involved in a hit-and-run accident while driving under the influence. Investigators also searched the home and office of the head of Think Entertainment, the agency representing Kim, in an effort to locate Kim and his manager after the incident. It is alleged that Kim fled the scene after hitting a taxi while driving drunk in Gangnam district. Although his manager initially claimed responsibility for the accident, Kim later confessed to driving the car about 17 hours after the incident. The head of Kim's agency admitted to instructing the manager to provide false testimony, and also stated that Kim had visited a bar before the accident but was not under the influence of alcohol. Kim gained fame after finishing fourth in the finals of TV Chosun's "Mr. Trot" audition show in 2020, and was nicknamed "Tvarotti" due to his combination of trot music and the legendary Italian opera singer Luciano Pavarotti.
