[Today’s K-pop] NewJeans hits 600m Spotify streams with ‘Ditto’

NewJeans has achieved a significant milestone with their song "Ditto," logging 600 million plays on Spotify. This marks the group's second song to achieve such success, following their previous hit "OMG." "Ditto" also made history for the group by becoming their first song to land on Billboard's Hot 100, debuting at No. 96 only six months after their debut and staying on the chart for five consecutive weeks. The song also set records on the Melon chart, topping the daily and weekly charts for 99 days and 14 weeks respectively. NewJeans is set to release the double single "How Sweet" next week and debut the single "Supernatural" in Japan on June 21. Meanwhile, Mark of NCT has achieved success with his solo single "200," topping the iTunes top songs chart in 11 regions. This is a precursor to his upcoming solo album, building on his previous solo works "Child" and "Golden Hour." On the other hand, Suho of EXO is gearing up for the release of his third solo EP, "1 to 3," featuring a collaboration with Red Velvet's Wendy on the song "Cheese." The mini album will consist of seven tracks and will be accompanied by a solo concert in Seoul and a subsequent tour across Asia. Additionally, Ive has been recognized by Forbes on their "30 Under 30 Asia" list, solidifying their status as one of the hottest girl groups in the competitive K-pop scene. Having debuted in December 2021, the group has already achieved significant success with multiple singles, EPs, and a studio album. Ive is currently promoting their second EP, "Ive Switch," and is gearing up for a world tour in Europe followed by a performance at Lollapalooza Chicago in August.
