Yoon to hold press conference Thursday

President Yoon Suk Yeol is set to hold a press conference on Thursday to address his stagnant job approval rating and the political challenges he faces from the opposition parties, who are preparing to take control of the new National Assembly next month. The conference, marking his second anniversary in office, will also see Yoon outlining his policy plans for the remainder of his term. The event will be broadcasted live at 10 a.m. from his office, with Yoon then taking questions from reporters for about an hour. This will be President Yoon's second press conference since taking office in May 2022. The upcoming remarks are highly anticipated, as they come in the wake of controversies involving Yoon and his wife, as well as the ruling bloc's loss in the April general election. Despite a slight increase in his approval rating, which rose to 30.3 percent, it remains below the 33 percent threshold following the election defeat.
