[Bills in Focus] Improvements for working condition, cultural diversity


Proposed Bill: Partial Amendment to the Act on the Management of Public Institutions Representative Song Ki-hun of the Democratic Party of Korea has proposed a bill to amend the Act on the Management of Public Institutions. The amendment aims to address the inadequate provision of rest facilities for workers such as street cleaners and security guards, who have experienced increased labor intensity due to heat waves and COVID-19 prevention measures. Proposed Bill: Partial Amendment to the Broadcasting Act Representative Lee Jasmine of the Green Justice Party has proposed an amendment to the Broadcasting Act to address the rapid increase in the number of foreigners residing in Korea. The proposed amendment introduces provisions to protect and promote cultural diversity, requiring broadcasting agencies to provide foreign language subtitles and develop culturally diverse programs.
