Global K-pop girl band Katseye confirms US debut on June 28

Katseye, the upcoming K-pop girl group formed through a collaboration between Hybe and Geffen Records, is set to make its debut in the US on June 28. This debut marks the first joint effort by both labels to break into the mainstream pop market in the US with an international girl group. All eyes are on the six-member multinational group to see if they will demonstrate the potential for globalizing Hybe's training and development system. The group's debut single will be released on June 28, followed by a second single in July and an EP in August. Katseye was created through the competition reality show "The Debut: Dream Academy," which aired on YouTube last year. The six bandmates, selected from over 6,000 contestants, come from diverse backgrounds, with members from the US, Switzerland, the Philippines, and South Korea. The group has already attracted a significant following on Hybe's global superfan platform Weverse, with nearly 300,000 registered fans from 220 regions. Additionally, Katseye was recognized by Grammy.com as one of the "11 Rookie K-Pop Acts to Know in 2024," further establishing their presence in the K-pop scene.
