Health issues plague K-pop girl groups

An increasing number of female K-pop artists are facing health issues and injuries due to the rigorous diets and demanding schedules they adhere to, leaving little time for rest. For instance, Woonhee from the rookie girl group Illit had to pause activities due to a foot injury, yet she was back on stage just a day later. Similarly, Ning Ning of aespa had to withdraw from a concert due to dehydration and exhaustion, highlighting the toll that the industry's intense dieting and training can take on artists' health. The pressure to quickly turn a profit and gain attention from fans also contributes to these health problems. Female idols are pushed to participate in numerous activities and events to promote themselves and make money, with little opportunity for rest. This challenging environment makes it nearly impossible for female K-pop idols to maintain good health, with the pressure to maintain a specific weight and the demanding schedules leading to sleep deprivation and health issues.
