[Herald Review] Weverse Con Festival captivates audience with music, technology


The Weverse Con Festival, organized by Hybe, took place at the Inspire Entertainment Resort on Incheon's Yeongjongdo, featuring a diverse lineup of artists and captivating performances over two days. The festival showcased rising K-pop stars like TWS, virtual idol group Plave, and globally popular groups such as Seventeen, Enhypen, and fromis_9. J.Y. Park, a legendary figure in Korean music, headlined the Tribute Stage, delivering memorable collaborations with younger artists and reflecting on his 30-year career. The festival concluded with a dazzling display of fireworks and flames during Seventeen's performance. In addition to the captivating performances, the festival also incorporated innovative augmented reality technologies. Weverse Lens offered attendees digital photo cards with invisible watermarks, while the Weverse Booth provided an AR photo wall for visitors to film videos resembling livestreaming artists. The "Weverse Queues" service allowed festivalgoers to join booth lines through the Weverse app and receive notifications for their turn, while wristwatch-like cheering bracelets enhanced the visual experience for attendees. Overall, the Weverse Con Festival offered a unique blend of music, technology, and entertainment for fans to enjoy.
