Hyundai Motor-produced mystery film 'Night Fishing' to hit theaters this week

"Night Fishing," a short thriller film co-produced by Hyundai Motor Co., is set to premiere in select CGV theaters this week. The 12-minute and 59-second movie, directed by Moon Byoung-gon, follows an agent who encounters mysterious events at a rural electric vehicle charging station at night. Starring Son Suk-ku, known for his roles in "The Roundup" and "My Liberation Notes," the film offers a unique perspective by focusing on the scenes around the Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV and showcasing the vehicle's camera technology for safer driving. The movie, shot entirely from the perspective of the Ioniq 5's cameras, marks Hyundai Motor's first venture into film production. Despite its short duration, "Night Fishing" features intense action sequences, including a scene where the car's front glass window is shattered. Moon Byoung-gon explained that the film was conceptualized based on Hyundai Motor's idea to create a story from the viewpoint of a vehicle camera, and it has already been invited to compete in the short film category at Canada's Fantasia International Film Festival. Additionally, Hyundai Motor's global chief marketing officer, Jee Sung-won, expressed the company's commitment to innovative content marketing through films and other platforms to engage with a diverse range of customers.
