Innovate Korea 2024 spotlights ‘new humanity’ in AI era


Innovate Korea 2024, an annual science and technology forum held in Daejeon, provided insights into the impact of advanced artificial intelligence on humanity. The event, hosted by Herald Media Group, gathered around 3,000 participants, including business leaders, researchers, and students at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. The theme, "The New Humanity Is Coming," emphasized the importance of passion and inspiration in maintaining a youthful mindset, as highlighted by Herald Media Group CEO Choi Jin-young. The forum also featured high-level state authorities who underscored the need to prioritize humanity in the face of rapidly evolving AI technology. The event included a diverse range of presentations, including discussions on AI technologies by Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon and demonstrations of humanoid robots by Rainbow Robotics founder Oh Jun-ho. K-pop star G-Dragon participated in a panel discussion on the future of entertainment technology and was appointed as a visiting professor at KAIST. The forum also showcased performances by world-class soprano Sumi Jo, singer-songwriter Park Sae-byul, and guitarist Jang Ha-eun, transforming the science event into a lively festival atmosphere. Additionally, TikTok representatives and influencers shared their experiences using AI technologies to reach global audiences.
