LG Chem Vice Chairman and CEO Shin Hak-cheol has been appointed as co-chair of the World Economic Forum's Annual Meetings of New Champions, making him the first Korean entrepreneur to hold this position. The annual meeting, titled "Next Frontiers for Growth," is being held in Dalian, China, and will bring together over 1,500 influential leaders from various sectors. Shin's role as co-chair involves promoting collaboration among Asian business leaders to collectively achieve net zero goals and accelerate cooperation during the meetings and seminars. During the event, Shin is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech on "Industry's Energy Revolution," where he will share his expertise in developing next-generation battery materials for renewable energy systems. Additionally, he will participate in discussions with startup executives in the fields of artificial intelligence, energy, and healthcare to explore entrepreneurship, corporate management, and industry trends. Shin also has plans to meet with Chinese Prime Minister Li Chang and executives from Chinese energy company Sinopec to further collaboration and discuss sustainable growth measures in the face of global business challenges and the climate crisis. Shin emphasized the need for comprehensive cooperation among industries to address the rapidly changing global business environment and climate crisis, affirming LG Chem's commitment to accelerating its transition to future businesses through collaboration with global leaders.
