Mirae Asset founder to be named executive of the year at AIB conference

Mirae Asset Financial Group's founder and Chairman Park Hyeon-joo has been selected to receive the International Executive of the Year Award at the upcoming annual conference of the Academy of International Business. The AIB, a prestigious organization of international business scholars and professionals, has members from around 90 countries. Park, who played a pivotal role in transforming Mirae Asset Financial Group into a global financial services firm, will be honored at the AIB conference in Seoul. Notably, this is only the second time a South Korean entrepreneur has received this award, the last being SK Group's late founder, Chey Jong-hyun, in 1995. Park is also scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the event's opening ceremony on July 3. Mirae Asset Financial Group, under Park's leadership as the global strategy officer, has rapidly expanded its global business to a scale of $100 billion in customer assets within 20 years. The group's commitment to innovative investments and global business strategies has positioned it at the forefront of South Korean financial exports. Additionally, Mirae Asset Securities recently completed the acquisition of Sharekhan, a local Indian brokerage firm, for approximately $480 million.
