NewJeans makes Billboard's 21 Under 21 list for 2024

NewJeans, a South Korean girl group, has been recognized as the sole K-pop artist on Billboard's 21 Under 21 list for 2024. This list, which was released on May 31, acknowledges the most influential young artists under 21 in the music industry, taking into account album and song sales, streaming numbers, and overall impact within the industry. Billboard specifically highlighted NewJeans' distinctive presence in K-pop since their debut just two years ago, as well as their remarkable achievements, including reaching the top of the Billboard 200 main albums chart with their second EP, "Get Up," and having five of their songs, such as "Ditto" and "Super Shy," make it onto the Hot 100 main singles chart. Furthermore, in March of 2024, NewJeans received the Group of the Year award at the Billboard Women in Music Awards. Their latest double single, "How Sweet," has been performing well on both domestic and international charts, with the main track reaching No. 85 on Spotify's Weekly Top Songs Global chart and achieving high rankings on South Korea's major music charts, indicating their growing success and popularity.
