NewJeans to make Japan debut, collaborate with local art moguls

K-pop girl group NewJeans, managed by the Ador music label of Hybe, is preparing for their debut in Japan with the release of their first Japanese EP, "Supernatural," on Friday. The mini-album features four tracks, including the title song and B-side "Right Now," with instrumental versions of both tracks. "Supernatural" is a nostalgic new jack swing-style song, with contributions from pop star Pharrell Williams. The group's innovative promotions and collaborations, including partnerships with Japanese cultural icons Takashi Murakami and Hiroshi Fujiwara, have set them apart, and their recent fan meeting in Tokyo Dome sold out, demonstrating their popularity in Japan. In addition to their EP release, NewJeans will be making appearances on several major Japanese music shows to promote their new music. However, member Hyein will be returning to promotional activities in Japan after a foot injury, and Ador has stated that they will adjust her participation to ensure her injury is not aggravated. They are coordinating her schedule to prioritize her recovery and well-being, while still aiming for her to participate in activities outside of music shows and performances as much as possible.
