Riize shows youthful groove through 1st EP ‘Riizing’

K-pop boy group Riize has elevated its distinctive "emotional pop" genre to new heights with the release of its first mini album, "Riizing," on Monday. Sungchan of Riize explained during a Seoul press conference that the album offers a comprehensive experience of their signature genre with eight tracks, demonstrating their desire to progress. The fusion genre of punk rock and pop, accompanied by emotionally relatable lyrics, is how Riize describes "emotional pop." The mini album is spearheaded by the lead track, "Boom Boom Bass," described by Wonbin as a funky disco number featuring a groovy bass line that encapsulates the excitement of youth and freedom. The group aimed to showcase their synergy through the song, incorporating elements like a "pair rap" of Shotaro and Sungchan, and approached the recording process with a focus on injecting their positive energy. Riize's objective with this new album is to exhibit improvement in both vocal and performance aspects. The group debuted in September last year and achieved a significant milestone with their debut single album, "Get A Guitar," selling over a million copies. Currently, Riize is on a fan concert tour, "Riizing Day," visiting fans in nine cities worldwide, culminating in a finale at the KSPO Dome in September, a prospect that the group is eagerly anticipating.
