S. Korea, US, Japan discuss supply chains, emerging technologies at economic security dialogue


Wang Yun-jong, the presidential secretary for economic security, participated in the Bio USA 2024 event at the Bio International Convention in San Diego. In a separate event, South Korea, the United States, and Japan held an economic security dialogue in San Diego. The dialogue, attended by high-ranking officials from each country, focused on cooperation in supply chains and emerging technologies. The participants discussed the effective implementation of an early warning system for the supply chain and agreed to explore joint investment projects in the critical mineral sector. Additionally, they resolved to identify joint research projects in core emerging technologies and enhance cooperation through information sharing among technology protection authorities. The officials also discussed global AI governance and vowed to coordinate key infrastructure security policies. They plan to hold the next session of the three-way channel in the latter half of the year.
