S-Oil donates W325m to Korea Coast Guard

South Korean oil refiner S-Oil demonstrated its ongoing commitment to supporting the country's maritime officers by presenting a donation of 325 million won ($235,728) to the Korea Coast Guard (KCG). This donation will be utilized to honor maritime officers, provide financial assistance for medical expenses, and offer tuition scholarships for the children of officers who lost their lives while on duty. S-Oil CEO Anwar Al-Hejazi emphasized the crucial role of maritime officers in saving lives despite challenging sea conditions, declaring the company's unwavering support for these heroes at a donation ceremony held at the company's headquarters in Seoul. S-Oil's partnership with the KCG and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare dates back to 2013 when they initially signed the "Maritime Hero Protection" agreement to provide support for coast guard officers. Since then, S-Oil has continued to make contributions and host awards ceremonies for the Korea Coast Guard officers. Additionally, the company has been recognizing and supporting firefighters and citizens who have shown exceptional bravery in rescuing others since 2006 through financial contributions and awards.
