Samsung chief holds meetings with global tech CEOs in US


Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong recently embarked on a two-week trip to the US, during which he held meetings with top executives from Meta, Amazon, and Qualcomm. The purpose of these meetings was to strengthen partnerships and explore opportunities for collaboration in advanced technology markets. Discussions with Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon focused on expanding collaboration in AI chips, while the meeting with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg centered on potential collaborations in AI, augmented reality, and virtual reality. In Seattle, Lee visited Amazon's headquarters to share Samsung's prospects for generative AI and cloud computing with Amazon's president and CEO, Andy Jassy. Additionally, Lee met with other global fabless firms and government officials to promote Samsung's foundry business and strengthen ties. Meanwhile, at the annual Samsung Foundry Forum in San Jose, California, the company outlined its vision for the artificial intelligence era and its commitment to start chip production using advanced technologies from 2027. Samsung also introduced its new integrated Samsung AI Solutions, aimed at reducing supply time by 20 percent and providing customers with comprehensive AI solutions. The event featured the announcement of two new process nodes, the SF2Z and SF4U, reinforcing Samsung's leading-edge process technology roadmap. The company also highlighted its preparations for the cutting-edge SF1.4 process, with mass production targeted for 2027. The event showcased cross-company collaboration and partnerships, with around 30 partner companies exhibiting their work, underscoring the dynamic collaboration across the US foundry ecosystem.
