Samsung Fire & Marine convenes global insurance conference in Incheon


Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, the leading non-life insurer in South Korea, hosted the Korea International Insurance Conference, the country's first global insurance conference. The event brought together insurance experts from around the world to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the industry, particularly in the context of climate change, population decline, and technological advancements. The conference received support and commendation from key figures in the financial and insurance sectors, including the Standing Commissioner of the Financial Services Commission and the President of the Korea Insurance Research Institute. The two-day conference featured sessions on a range of topics, including the application of artificial intelligence in the insurance industry, the local general insurance market, electric-based risk response, and academic research. With 500 attendees from 88 companies across 16 countries, the event provided a platform for networking and fostering a consensus on the development of the Korean insurance market. Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance's CEO emphasized the need for the Korean market to address uncertainties and pursue growth in line with global trends, positioning the conference as the beginning of efforts to establish a platform for market development.
