Samsung Electronics, an official partner of the Paris 2024 Olympics, has announced plans to use its flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones to broadcast the opening ceremony, which will be held outside a traditional stadium for the first time in Olympic history. The tech giant will install over 200 units of its latest smartphone on 85 vessels carrying 10,500 athletes as they parade down the Seine River, providing high-quality footage of the iconic event. Choi Seung-eun, Samsung's executive vice president, emphasized the company's commitment to creating meaningful connections at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, highlighting the importance of enabling fans to experience the excitement of the event. Samsung's advanced mobile technology and 5G connectivity will offer a unique perspective on the celebratory and competitive moments of the Games, aligning with Paris 2024's goal of being the most open Games ever. To ensure seamless 5G connectivity and viewing experiences for fans worldwide, Samsung has partnered with Orange, the official mobile network provider of Paris 2024, to create a private 5G network along the Seine. The opening ceremony, which will be open to the general public, will take place at the heart of Paris, with the parade passing through the city center and concluding at the Trocadero.
