Yoon returns to Seoul after Central Asia trip

President Yoon Suk Yeol and first lady Kim Keon Hee arrived at Seongnam Air Base in Gyeonggi Province on Sunday, marking the conclusion of their state visits to three Central Asian countries. Their final engagement took place in Uzbekistan, where they visited historical sites such as Registan and Gur-e-Amir, significant landmarks from the 14th-century Timurid Empire. During Yoon's weeklong trip to Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, he secured support for a multilateral summit with Central Asian countries next year and oversaw the signing of over 90 documents. The visit also aimed to pave the way for enhanced minerals cooperation, increased development aid, and active people-to-people exchanges through South Korea's K-Silk Road Initiative. However, there were no announcements regarding South Korea's strengthened diplomatic relations with any of the visited countries.
