Blackpink’s Lisa to headline 2024 Global Citizen Festival

Lisa from the K-pop group Blackpink is set to be the main act at the 2024 Global Citizen Festival in New York City's Central Park on September 23. This will mark her first solo performance at a music festival since her debut with the digital single "Rockstar" on June 28. Global Citizen's senior vice president, Katie Hill, expressed excitement about Lisa's solo debut at the festival, highlighting her not only as a talented performer but also as a strong advocate for urgent global issues. The Global Citizen Festival, organized by the international civic group Global Citizen, aims to engage fans in taking action to end extreme poverty in exchange for free tickets. The festival, which began in 2012, focuses on raising awareness about issues such as extreme poverty, famine, and climate change. This year's lineup also includes artists like Post Malone, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, and Rauw Alejandro. Notably, Lisa's fellow K-pop artist Jungkook of BTS headlined the festival as the first K-pop solo artist last year. Additionally, Lisa achieved her first No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excluding US chart with "Rockstar" and is also set to appear in the third season of the popular HBO drama series "The White Lotus."
