Goobne Chicken opens 1st outlet in Philippines

GN Food, the company behind South Korea's top roast chicken franchise Goobne Chicken, has recently expanded its reach to the Philippines by opening its first outlet in Bonifacio Global City, a prominent business district in Taguig, Metro Manila. This move is part of the company's broader strategy to grow its presence internationally, with a current total of 40 outlets in 11 countries, including Japan, China, and the United States. Since its first overseas store in Hong Kong in 2014, GN Food has been capitalizing on the increasing global demand for Korean cuisine, driven by the popularity of Korean entertainment and cultural content. With the rising interest in Korean food and culture worldwide, GN Food is aiming to further expand its international footprint by opening 100 Goobne stores in overseas markets by 2025. The company's overseas sales from its Goobne outlets reached 30.5 billion won ($22 million) in 2023, marking a 10 percent increase from the previous year, and it has set a sales target of 70 billion won for 2025. While the exact number of domestic outlets was not disclosed, GN Food's expansion efforts reflect its ambition to capitalize on the global appeal of Korean cuisine and entertainment.
