The collaboration involves HD Hyundai Marine Solution acquiring a 3 billion won ($2.17 million) stake in SeaVantage through a strategic investment. During the ceremony, the two companies expressed their commitment to expanding their business portfolio by strengthening their cooperation in the future. SeaVantage, established in 2018, offers real-time solutions in maritime transport using artificial intelligence and big data technologies to enable clients to track cargo location and predict estimated arrival times. HD Hyundai Marine Solution plans to integrate SeaVantage's technology into its OceanWise platform solution, which focuses on optimizing the maritime supply chain by leveraging ship, port, and weather information to reduce carbon emissions by suggesting efficient routes. CEO Lee Ki-dong emphasized the significance of this investment deal as a crucial first step in HD Hyundai Marine Solution's future AI solutions, outlining the company's dedication to enhancing competitiveness through strategic partnerships. HD Hyundai Marine Solution, a separate entity of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, took over the ship maintenance business in 2016 and debuted on the Kospi stock market in May, with a market cap of approximately 5.48 trillion won.
