Hyundai Motor revamps Turkey’s Korea Park to honor war veterans

The South Korean Ambassador to Turkey, Jeong Yeon-doo, along with President of the Turkish War Veterans Association Beyazit Yumuk and other notable personalities from Korea and Turkey, gathered at Korea Park in Ankara, Turkey on June 25 to honor the 74th anniversary of the Korean War. Hyundai Motor Group recently completed the renovation of the 10,000 square meter park, which was initially established in 1973 to commemorate the sacrifices of Turkish soldiers in the Korean War and the 50th anniversary of Turkey's founding. Due to the deterioration of the park's facilities over time, Hyundai Motor Group, in collaboration with the South Korean Embassy in Turkey and the Turkish Ministry of Culture, took on the restoration project. The enhancements included preserving the park's memorial tower, replacing the pavement with durable travertine marble, adding an octagonal pavilion reflecting traditional Korean architecture, and redesigning the management office as a hanok. The newly renovated Korea Park reopened in June during the commemoration event for the 74th anniversary of the Korean War.
