Kim Jong-un's daughter under succession training: lawmaker

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's 12-year-old daughter, Kim Ju-ae, is reportedly being groomed for succession, according to a lawmaker who attended a meeting of the intelligence committee of the National Assembly. The National Intelligence Service has suggested that Kim Ju-ae is the most likely successor in the regime, with succession training currently underway. The North Korean regime is carefully managing Kim Ju-ae's public appearances in response to the public's reaction, adjusting the frequency of her media exposure. She has made 29 public appearances since November 2022, including seven appearances this year. Additionally, there are indications that Kim Jong-un's health has deteriorated, with reports suggesting that he weighs about 140 kilograms and has a body mass index of around 45, which is well above the desirable range. The National Intelligence Service's view of Kim Ju-ae as the likely successor aligns with the information shared by lawmakers who attended the committee meeting. They also revealed concerns about Kim Jong-un's health, citing his weight and health conditions such as hypertension and diabetes. It is suggested that his health problems may be linked to stress, excessive smoking, and drinking. South Korea's intelligence authorities are closely monitoring Kim Jong-un's health-related data due to the potential risk of cardiovascular disease if his health condition is not addressed.
