PM orders containment measures against African swine fever


Prime Minister Han Duck-soo addressed ministers of the Yoon Suk Yeol administration in Sejong on Jun. 20, urging officials to implement urgent measures following the confirmation of additional cases of African swine fever at a pig farm in a southeastern county. The sixth case of the virus was identified at a farm in Yecheon County, prompting Han to direct authorities to carry out necessary actions such as culling, imposing a standstill order, and conducting an epidemiological analysis, as stated by the prime minister's office. During a meeting with ministers, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo emphasized the importance of taking immediate containment measures after more cases of African swine fever were reported at a pig farm in a southeastern county. The sixth case of the virus was confirmed in Yecheon County, leading Han to instruct authorities to carry out essential actions, including culling, imposing a standstill order, and conducting an epidemiological analysis, as per the statement from the prime minister's office.
