Price of stardom?

Wonbin from Riize arrived at Incheon International Airport after the group's concert in Taiwan, where fans surrounded him to take pictures on June 16. This incident sheds light on the persistent issue of stalkers, commonly known as "sasaeng" in Korea, which has been plaguing the K-pop industry. Despite growing awareness about the need to respect artists' privacy, the excessive actions of some individuals continue to torment celebrities, leading to calls for an end to harassment. The problem of sasaeng harassment persists despite efforts by entertainment agencies to protect their artists, such as warnings and legal actions. Celebrities have resorted to drastic measures to avoid sasaeng harassment, including the use of private flights. The methods used by sasaeng to reach celebrities have become increasingly cunning, with some even manipulating phone numbers and pretending to be fellow K-pop group members. Furthermore, the sale of personal information and flight details of K-pop singers on social media platforms has exacerbated the issue, indicating the need for comprehensive measures to address sasaeng behavior.
