Kia is making a strong effort to combat the slowing growth of electric vehicles by introducing its latest all-electric vehicle, the EV3. The Korean automaker has designed an affordable and versatile EV, aiming to revitalize the electric vehicle market. The Korea Herald recently test drove the long-range model of the Kia EV3, covering a 201-kilometer course that included city driving, highways, and winding roads. The EV3 is classified as a subcompact crossover sports utility vehicle, with dimensions of 4,300mm in length, 1,850mm in width, and 1,560mm in height. Its interior features a minimalist design, highlighted by a panoramic wide display on the dashboard, including a 12.3-inch cluster, a 5-inch heating, ventilation and air conditioning control screen, and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Notably, the EV3 is the first vehicle to be equipped with Hyundai Motor Group's Possible Driving Distance Guide feature, indicating a driving range of 288 kilometers to 670 kilometers based on driving efficiency. The EV3 also incorporates the auto giant's Smart Regenerative System 3.0, which combines regenerative braking with autonomous driving, showcasing Kia's advanced technology in this field. The vehicle's starting price in Korea is 42.08 million won ($30,360), with plans for a global release, including in Europe in the second half of this year and in the North American market next year.
