[Today’s K-pop] Seventeen subunit duo goes gold in Japan


Seventeen's Junghan and Wonwoo achieved gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan for their first subunit single, "This Man," which has shipped over 100,000 copies as of last month. The single, released on June 17, topped Oricon's daily single ranking and achieved high sales, setting records for a K-pop subunit. Additionally, the 13-member group is hosting a meet and greet in Seoul under the title "Seventeen in Carat Land." Illit's debut song "Magnetic" reached 300 million streams on Spotify within three months, making it the fastest debut song from a K-pop girl group to achieve this milestone. The song also made appearances on Billboard's Hot 100 and UK's Official Singles Top 100, while their album "Super Real Me" ranked on the Billboard 200, marking the group's successful debut. aespa's pre-release track "Supernova" from their first studio album hit 100 million streams on Spotify and became the group's tenth song to achieve this milestone on the platform. The album "Armageddon" also achieved commercial success, topping iTunes Top Albums chart in 25 regions and selling over 1.15 million copies in the first week. Additionally, Wheein of Mamamoo is set to release a solo digital single titled "Coco Water," following her successful solo tour and the group's celebration of their tenth debut anniversary.
