[Today’s K-pop] Stray Kids renew contract with label


All eight members of Stray Kids have agreed to extend their exclusive contracts with JYP Entertainment, which were originally set to expire in March next year. The group is preparing to release their ninth EP, "Ate," following the success of their previous albums, which have all debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. Stray Kids recently returned from headlining British Summertime Hyde Park in London and are scheduled to perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago next month, followed by the start of their largest-ever global tour in Seoul on August 24. Le Sserafim, a girl group under Source Music, achieved over 300 million streams on Spotify with their first English-language single, "Perfect Night," marking a record for the group. The single also made it to the top 10 of Billboard's Global 200 Excl. the US chart and remained on the chart for 28 weeks. The group recently returned from a meet-and-greet in Yokohama, Japan, and has upcoming fan meetings in Fukuoka at the end of July, with plans to fully resume activities in late August. Girl group Ily:1, managed by FNC ENM, is currently working on an album set to be released in August, following the success of their digital single "I My Me Mine" released in April. The multinational group, consisting of members from Japan, Taiwan, and Korea, debuted in April 2022 and is gearing up for their upcoming album release. Shuhua of (G)I-dle, under Cube Entertainment, has denied dating rumors with Taiwanese actor Ko Chen-tung. The agency clarified that the interaction between the two on social media was misinterpreted, and the dating rumor is unfounded. Meanwhile, (G)I-dle is actively promoting their seventh EP, "I Sway," which has achieved significant success in album sales and topped iTunes charts in 18 regions.
