[Today’s K-pop] Twice logs 800m views with ‘What is Love?’ music video

Twice's music video for "What is Love?" has reached a milestone of 800 million views on YouTube, marking the group's first video to achieve this feat. The song is the title track from Twice's fifth EP, released in 2018, and the music video, featuring an upbeat tune and movie character transformations for each member, has contributed to the group's record as the girl group with the most music videos surpassing 100 million views, at 24. Additionally, Twice recently completed its fifth world tour in Kanagawa, Japan, including concerts at Nissan Stadium, which drew a total of 140,000 fans. Meanwhile, Karina from the group aespa was unable to participate in their recent concert in Osaka due to health reasons, as announced by SM Entertainment. This occurred during the group's "Synk: Parallel Line" tour, which began in Seoul and is scheduled to continue in various Asian cities and Australia until September. Concerns about the members' health have arisen, as Karina is the third member to require time off for health reasons within the past three months. Additionally, Taemin of SHINee is preparing to release his fifth solo EP, "Eternal," on August 18, marking his first album since joining a new management company and coinciding with the 10th anniversary of his solo career. Following the album release, Taemin will embark on his first solo international tour, "Ephemeral Gaze," visiting fans in 10 cities across Asia. Furthermore, Jeon Somi is gearing up for a comeback on August 2 with new music, approximately a year after her first solo EP, "Game Plan," was released. The main track from her previous album, "Fast Forward," achieved rankings on Billboard's Global 200 chart. This marks the continuation of her solo career after her debut with IOI and subsequent transition to a new management firm.
