US-Korean dual national elected to PPP Supreme Council


The ruling People Power Party in South Korea has appointed Rep. Ihn Yohan, the first American Korean lawmaker in Korea, to its five-member Supreme Council, which is led by newly elected Chair Han Dong-hoon. Ihn, also known by his English name John Linton, previously headed the party's innovation committee and was elected to parliament this year through proportional representation. He was the running mate to chair candidate Won Hee-ryong, a former land minister and strong supporter of President Yoon Suk Yeol. Additionally, Olympic gold medalist Rep. Jin Jong-oh was elected to the council as the only youth member, alongside other new members such as Rep. Kim Min-jeon and ex-Rep. Kim Jae-won, both with distinguished backgrounds. Furthermore, Han's running mate, Rep. Jang Dong-hyuk, a former judge and two-time lawmaker, was also elected to the council. The People Power Party in South Korea has chosen Rep. Jin Jong-oh was elected as the only youth member of the council, while other new members include Rep. Kim Min-jeon, a former professor of liberal arts, and ex-Rep. Kim Jae-won, who served as senior secretary for political affairs in the Park Geun-hye administration. Rep. Jang Dong-hyuk, a former judge and two-time lawmaker, who was Han's running mate, was also elected to the council.
