BTS' Suga's blood alcohol concentration over 0.2 pct in drunk driving incident: police

Suga of the K-pop group BTS was found to be heavily intoxicated with a blood alcohol level over 0.2 percent when he fell from an electric scooter in Seoul earlier this week. He has been under investigation after being discovered lying on the ground in Yongsan district on Tuesday night. According to the police, a breathalyzer test conducted at the time of the incident showed Suga's blood alcohol concentration was 0.227 percent, well above the legal limit for driving. South Korean law stipulates severe penalties for drunk driving, including a prison sentence or hefty fines, especially for alcohol levels exceeding 0.2 percent. Suga, who has been serving as a social service agent in lieu of traditional military service, issued an apology on a K-pop fan community platform, expressing remorse for letting down his fans and vowing to take full responsibility for his actions. Furthermore, Suga is scheduled to be discharged from his social service duties in June next year, but his recent incident of drunk driving may have legal and professional implications for the popular musician.
