Campaign calls for mutual respect between Koreans, Filipinos

Business leaders, politicians, and diplomats from Korea and the Philippines emphasized the significance of mutual cultural understanding and respect during a meeting at the National Assembly in Seoul. The "K-Respect Campaign" event, organized by the Sunfull Foundation, brought together 37 members of the Korea-Philippines Economic Council, along with lawmakers of the National Assembly and Philippine Ambassador to Korea Maria Theresa B. Dizon-De Vega. The event aimed to bridge cultural differences and promote shared values of respect and consideration among businesspeople from both nations, as highlighted by Chairman Robert Yupangco and Ambassador Dizon-De Vega. The event also addressed the issue of wage levels for foreign nannies in Korea, particularly in light of the arrival of the first group of Filipina caregivers earlier in the month. Korean representatives at the event stressed the need to foster respect for people from diverse backgrounds in Korean society. The chairman of the Sunfull Foundation, Min Byoung-chul, emphasized that respect is the core value of the Sunfull Movement and highlighted the importance of showing respect to foreigners living in Korea to promote mutual respect in international interactions.
