The company's decision to add perilla herb to the supplement was based on a 2017 study that demonstrated the herb's ability to reduce indicators of eye fatigue. To make the supplement more palatable for children, fruit concentrate has been added to counter the strong bitter taste of perilla extract. This move follows the successful launch of the original blueberry-flavored Minimax items last year. A spokesperson from Dong-A Pharmaceutical emphasized the importance of managing children's eye health, particularly in the digital age, and expressed hope that the new product will help protect kids' eyes from damage caused by electronic devices. They also highlighted that Minimax LAB Eyes Solution provides eye health nutrients without the use of artificial sweeteners like sugar or aspartame.
