Former Ador CEO Min rejects producing NewJeans, Hybe keeps door open

Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of the Hybe-owned label Ador, has declined the company's proposal to continue as the producer of NewJeans for the remaining two months of her contract. Through her public relations agency Macoll Consulting Group, Min conveyed that the announcement by Hybe claiming her continued involvement with NewJeans was never agreed upon. The consulting group stated that the proposed contract contained clauses that were deemed "harmful" and that Min determined it unrealistic to fulfill critical production tasks such as preparing for NewJeans' 2025 world tour within such a short-term contract. Specifically, she raised concerns about the contract term being subject to potential early termination by Ador or Hybe, as well as the noncompete period being six times longer than the contract's duration. In response, Hybe refuted Min's assertions, asserting that she was indeed offered the role of NewJeans' producer for the remaining two months and six days of her contract, and that the duration of the offer was in line with the timeline of her contract expiration as an internal director at Ador. They also emphasized that the noncompete clause in the proposed contract was in line with industry norms for executive contracts. Despite Min's rejection, Hybe indicated that the possibility of finding an alternative producer remained open, suggesting that her decision might have been driven by financial motives.
