[Graphic News] Korean food exports rise 9.2%

According to data, South Korea's food exports increased by 9.2 percent in the first seven months of 2024, reaching $5.67 billion. This growth was primarily driven by a significant rise in the export of instant noodles and processed rice products. Specifically, exports of instant noodles surged by 34 percent to $699 million, while processed rice products saw a remarkable increase of 45.7 percent to $165 million, reflecting the growing demand for ready-to-eat rice and frozen gimbap. The United States and China were notable destinations for South Korea's food exports, with shipments to the United States rising by 23 percent to $886 million and those to China increasing by 5.9 percent to $837 million. Overall, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs reported a positive trend in the country's food export performance during this period.
