[Herald Interview] Cheeze shifts from lovable to chilling for summer song

Cheeze, known for vocalist Dalchong's clear and lovely voice, has made a comeback with an intense summer track. In an interview, Dalchong expressed her desire to showcase the various facets of Cheeze beyond the bright and lovely image usually associated with the band. The new bossa nova-inspired song "Flames to Dust" delves into the theme of suppressed anger in a betrayed relationship, portraying love as something that burns hot like summer and then disappears like a dream. The accompanying music video, featuring actress Ji Ye-eun, uses visual metaphors like blood and lighting to capture the intense emotions of betrayal. Dalchong, now in her 13th year of her career, shared her approach to songwriting and her desire to be recognized as an artist who produces her own music. She also mentioned the evolution of her songwriting process and her wish for greater recognition of her production work, in addition to her vocals. Overall, Cheeze's latest release aims to showcase a different side of the band and its vocalist while embracing the complexity of human emotions and relationships.
