[Herald Interview] Finding inspiration in school life

Eleven-year-old singer and content creator Seo Eve quickly gained fame with her debut digital single, "Malatanghulu," which became popular on Instagram and TikTok after its release in April. Despite her young age, Seo showcased her singing talent by writing her own lyrics and creating dance choreography. In an interview with The Korea Herald, Seo explained that "Malatanghulu" is based on her school experiences and revolves around asking someone she likes to have a hot pot date, a popular activity among students. The storyline of her debut single continued in her second digital single, "Kungkungdda," released on July 19, where she expressed her feelings through the lyrics and choreography, incorporating the concept of the "kungkungdda" game. The music video for her latest single featured Yunho from Ateez, adding to the excitement and popularity of her music. Seo's rising popularity has attracted attention from K-pop agencies seeking to train her for a potential debut in a K-pop group. However, Seo expressed her preference for remaining a solo artist, cherishing the creative freedom she currently enjoys. She also expressed her aspirations to perform internationally, particularly in countries like China, Taiwan, and Japan, where her music has already gained traction. Seo has been studying various languages in preparation for reaching out to a wider audience globally.
