Korean export delegation visits Vietnam to enhance agricultural trade

A South Korean export delegation has arrived in Vietnam to promote high-quality Korean agricultural products and facilitate their entry into the Vietnamese market. The delegation, led by officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, comprises various exporters, including those specializing in fertilizers, eco-friendly agricultural chemicals, equipment, animal feed, and machinery. Since 2018, the ministry has been consistently sending export groups overseas, providing comprehensive business support, including meetings with local government officials, participation in international trade shows, and insights into local market trends. In 2023, Korean agricultural input exports to Vietnam reached $1.02 billion, marking a 33 percent increase from the previous year. This growth is attributed to increased exports of fertilizers and agricultural chemicals, despite global economic challenges. Vietnam is becoming an increasingly important market for South Korean products, especially as the Vietnamese government promotes the use of organic fertilizers in line with its organic farming development policy. To capitalize on these trends, the ministry has curated a group of exporters to meet local buyers' interests, and plans to host an agricultural trade show and engage in discussions with Vietnamese authorities to streamline import processes for Korean agricultural products.
