[Today’s K-pop] Blackpink’s Lisa to drop solo single feat. Rosalia


Lisa of Blackpink is set to release her solo single "New Woman" on August 16, according to her agency Lloud Company. She has teamed up with the Grammy-winning Spanish singer and songwriter Rosalia, leading to much anticipation among fans. This collaboration was hinted at in a teaser that featured a rotating silvery "rose" and snippets of music from Lisa's TikTok video last week. Her previous single "Rockstar" achieved success on various music charts, including Billboard's Hot 100 and Spotify's Top Songs Global chart. Tomorrow X Together, also known as TXT, will be hosting a fan meeting in Seoul on August 20 titled "Play X Together 2024," with a sports day theme. The event will involve the five members teaming up with fans for various games, and will be streamed live. Additionally, their EP "Minisode 3: Tomorrow" has been shortlisted for the Best K-Pop award at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, following their successful concert in Nagoya. Riize, a rookie idol group under SM Entertainment, is set to launch its first original show "Boss Riize," which will follow the members as they select a "boss" and travel together. The show will consist of 12 episodes and is scheduled to air from August 28. In terms of their music career, the group will be hosting the final gig of their fan concert tour "Riizing Day" in Seoul on September 13-15, coinciding with their first debut anniversary. The tour will also be livestreamed globally. Finally, Hybe reported record quarterly earnings of 640.5 billion won in the second quarter, with a slight rise in revenue compared to the same period last year. Despite a 37 percent slump in operating profit, the company highlighted its investment in new businesses and the addition of multiple artists to its labels. The company also achieved the 1 trillion won earnings milestone in the first half of the year, driven by revenue from music sales and the success of its artists in the Korean album market.
