[Today’s K-pop] BTS’ Jimin goes double platinum with ‘Like Crazy’


Jimin of BTS achieved a double platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America for his solo single "Like Crazy," making him the first K-pop solo act to do so. The single, which led his first solo album "Face," debuted at the top of Billboard's Hot 100 and also topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in 119 regions. Additionally, Jimin's main track "Who" from his second solo EP "Muse" sold 500,000 units in the US and earned a gold certification from the organization in record time for a K-pop solo song. Riize, a band under SM Entertainment, will host a livestream on September 3 to celebrate their first debut anniversary. The livestream, themed as a slumber party, will feature discussions about their first year, memories, and costumes for their upcoming fan concert tour in Seoul. The band is currently on their Japan tour "Riizing Day" and will release their first single in Japan, "Lucky," on September 5. Kiss of Life, a girl group under S2 Entertainment, has announced its first international tour "Kiss Road" spanning 20 cities in the US and Canada. The tour will kick off with a concert in Seoul on October 26 and visit major cities in the US and Canada, with the potential for additional destinations. The group also released the digital single "Sticky," receiving recognition on music charts and the Billboard 200. Lastly, a documentary film about BTOB's Lim Hyunsik will be featured at the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival, showcasing the making of a music video for the main track of his solo album "The Young Man and the Deep Sea."
